Abstract
Saturation limits excited-state absorption (ESA) in many organic molecules. This was studied in polymethines using continuum spectroscopy to determine ESA spectra, two-color pump-probe anisotropy for transition dipole moment orientations, picosecond and nanosecond z- scans and nonlinear transmission measurements.
