Ultralow-threshold toroidal microcavity Raman laser

Abstract

We investigate Raman lasing in fiber-coupled ultra-high-Q chip-based toroidal microcavities. Low threshold, single mode emission with high conversion efficiency is obtained. Additionally, the effect on threshold of varying the toroid geometry is discussed.
