Two-photon absorption imaging and self-phase modulation imaging with shaped laser pulses

Abstract

We present a new method for deep tissue imaging using nonlinear optics. Specific tailored laser pulses permit measurement of two-photon absorption or self-phase modulation with modest near-IR powers (1-10 mW), giving good penetration and molecular specificity.
