Enhancement of multi-harmonic generation in one-dimensional semiconductor photonic crystal

Abstract

Strong enhancement of second harmonic and third harmonic radiation were observed in a one-dimensional ZnSe/ZnMgS semiconductor photonic crystal. This comes from phase matching and a high density of states near the photonic band edge.
