Suppressing the frequency chirp in optical solitons by coherent propagation effects

Abstract

We report on the coherent propagation of optical solitons through a three level atomic system embedded in a nonlinear dispersive waveguide showing that the soliton frequency chirp can be suppressed during the frequency conversion process.
