Abstract

This work reports second harmonic generation(SHG) and difference frequency generation(DFG) in nonlinear optical(NLO) polymer waveguide. We developed a new NLO polymer with relatively low material loss and poling-induced loss at the interacting wavelengths. The quasi-phase-matched wavelength conversions demonstrate with a normalized SHG efficiency of 2.4 %W−1cm−2 and a DFG efficiency of –47 dB, operating at the optical communication band.
