Experimental Observation of the 1D Kerr-type Cavity Soliton in a Passive Optical Fiber Resonator

Abstract

The existence of 1D Kerr-type cavity soliton is experimentally demonstrated in an optical fiber ring cavity. The solitons are generated through cross-phase modulation between the intracavity field and short external writing pulses.
