Abstract
We report results on nonlinear spectro-electrochemistry, a new hyphenated technique in molecular materials research. Nonlinear optical measurements on molecular materials are important to develop better performing electro-optical devices. Electrochemical experiments report on the redox properties of molecules. We show results from combined electrochemical and (non)linear optical experiments. The electrochemical experiments have been conducted in solution and in-situ monitored by hyper-Rayleigh scattering. Also thin films are shown to be electrochemically altered and in-situ probed by second-harmonic generation.
