A Semiconductor Ridge Micro Cavity Generating Counter-propagating Twin Photons

Abstract

We demonstrate twin photon emission in a AlGaAs ridge microcavity at room temperature. The pump beam resonance leads to an important efficiency enhancement of the nonlinear process generating counter-propagating twin photons at 1.55 μm.
