Efficient THz Emission from the Acoustic Surface Plasmons in InAs Nanowires

Abstract

We observe efficient THz emission from an ensemble of free-standing InAs nanowires. The emitted spectrum is consistent with the presence of low-energy acoustic surface plasmons. The predicted electron concentration agrees with separate transconductance measurements.
