Abstract

We exploit the high nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear figure of merit of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) for broad bandwidth and low-power four-wave mixing demonstrations including parametric amplification, time division demultiplexing, and ultrafast pulse characterization.
