Towards On-Chip Coherent Photonic Logic with Amorphous Silicon Microring Resonators

Abstract

We demonstrate picosecond timescale optical switching in high-Q amorphous silicon microring resonators in the 1.5-μm telecom band via cross-phase modulation. Our results indicate promising approaches for explorations of ultrafast coherent photonic logic on chip.
