Nonlinear Optical Injection, Detection & Control of Ballistic Currents & Coherent THz Plasma Oscillations

Abstract

Quantum interference injects ballistic electrons and holes into GaAs generating coherent THz plasma oscillations and ~100 kV/cm space charge fields. The carrier and field dynamics are resolved using phase space filling and dynamic Franz-Keldysh effects.
