Abstract

On-chip Stimulated Brillouin scattering offers potential for integration of a variety of important photonic functionalities. Here, we demonstrate selectively enhancing and inhibiting nonlinear interactions on a chip by exploiting the frequency dependence of the optical density-of-states near the edge of a photonic-bandgap.
