Control of coherent information via traveling-wave photon-phonon interactions

Abstract

Through a new class hybrid photonic-phononic waveguide structures we show that artificial Brillouin nonlinearities can be created and manipulated in silicon. Exploiting the nonlocal nature of such hybrid interactions, we demonstrate sophisticated phonon emit-receive functionalities.
