Sideband Generation at a Frequency of larger than 10 THz Based on Molecular Modulation of a Continuous-wave Laser

Abstract

We have demonstrated an optical modulator for a continuous-wave laser at a modulation frequency of 17.6 THz. This is based on coherent molecular modulation in a dispersion-controlled high-finesse optical cavity.
