Efficient Forward Second-Harmonic Generation from Planar Arrays of Archimedean Nanospirals

Abstract

Subwavelength Archimedean spirals have no inversion symmetry, and efficiently generate second-harmonic light when pumped by femtosecond laser pulses, especially in the circularly polarized mode that focuses the optical near field in the nanospiral center.
