All-optical generation of frequency-shift keying radiofrequency signal based on nonlinear polarization rotation in a highly nonlinear fiber

Abstract

An optical approach to generate frequency-shift keying (FSK) RF signal using nonlinear polarization rotation in highly nonlinear fiber is reported. FSK RF signals with 10 GHz carrier at 1.25 and 2.5 Gb/s are generated.
