Abstract

Spatiotemporal nanofocusing of surface plasmon polaritons excited by femtosecond laser pulses on an Au taper with a tip radius of few tens of nanometer is deterministically controlled. In addition, we control nonlinear radiation such as second harmonics (SH) and coherent anti-stokes Raman scattering (CARS) at the apex of the tip by shaping the excitation femtosecond laser pulses.
