Signal Power Symmetry Optimization for Optical Phase Conjugation Using Raman Amplification

Abstract

We compare three Raman distributed amplification schemes and numerically optimize performance for OPC by minimizing signal power asymmetry. We show that a power asymmetry of 3% can be achieved in a 63 km span with random DFB Raman laser-based amplification.
