Nonlinear Phase Noise Reduction by Gain Saturated Parametric Amplifiers in Coherent Optical Transmission

Abstract

This paper proposes nonlinear phase noise reduction scheme for coherent optical transmission systems by using gain saturated parametric amplifiers. The small-signal analysis based theoretical results indicate more than 3 [dB] SNR improvement to conventional systems.
