Strong Frequency Dependence of the Third Order Kerr Nonlinear Susceptibility in a Silica Fiber

Abstract

Spectral measurements on spontaneous four-wave mixing side-bands in a multimode silica optical fiber with large spectral shifts show that the third order Kerr nonlinear susceptibility is a strong function of the frequency separation.
