Demonstration of Flat-band Line States in Photonic Lattices

Abstract

We demonstrate photonic Lieb and super-honeycomb lattices established with a cw-laser writing technique, thereby uncovering nontrivial flat-band line states that manifest noncontractible-loop-states in infinite flat-band systems arising from real-space topology.
