On-Chip Kerr Broadening of an Electro-Optic Pulse Source on thin-film lithium niobate

Abstract

We realize resonant Kerr broadening of an integrated-electro-optic-modulator-based femtosecond pulse source using a high-Q 30-GHz microresonator on thin-film lithium niobate. A frequency comb spectrum spanning over 100 nm is generated using 16 mW average on-chip power and 0.53 pJ pulse energy.
