The role of self-steepening in supercontinuum generation in nanowires

Abstract

We present a study of self-steepening in supercontinuum generation in 2D-decorated nanowires with frequency-dependent nonlinearities. We show that there exists an optimum value of the self-steepening parameter which can be achieved by design of the nanowire.
