Spontaneous parametric down-conversion in AlGaAs-on-insulator waveguides

Abstract

We report on the first observation of spontaneous parametric down-conversion and a highly efficient second harmonic generation with ηshg ≈ 420 %/W/mm2 in AlGaAs- on-insulator waveguides operated at telecom wavelengths.
