Abstract

Saturated second-harmonic generation and three-wave mixing can be used to generate octave-spanning supercontinua with record-low energy requirements in waveguides with second-order nonlinearities. In this talk, we use a heuristic model to derive scaling laws that illuminate design rules, limitations, and new opportunities for these processes.
