Kerr Soliton Dynamics in Normal-dispersion Photonic Crystal Ring Resonators

Abstract

We investigate the pump distribution and soliton formation in normal-dispersion photonic-crystal ring resonators. Using a conventional telecom distributed feed-back laser as the pump, we experimentally generate Kerr solitons through direct laser-current tuning.
