Abstract

We report the first observation of on-chip Brillouin lasing at a 3.3 μm mid-infrared wavelength. A chalcogenide glass ultra-high-Q microresonator with Qint = 2.19 × 107. was used. Cascade Brillouin scattering stretching to the 6th Stokes wave was observed.
