Abstract

We analytically, numerically, and experimentally investigate the formation of ultra-sharp plasmonic bandgaps, namely, the omnidirectional and quasi-omnidirectional bandgaps in thin plasmonic nanogratings formed by a pair of graded metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) structure.
