Measuring gravity with optically levitated nanoparticles

Abstract

Nanoparticles optically trapped in vacuum are excellent resonant force sensors. We introduce a scheme for measuring static forces with resonant sensors and demonstrate sensing of the gravitational interaction between a nanoparticle and the earth.
