Silk Inverse Opal as a Biological Light Reflector and Emitter

Abstract

We introduce applications of the silk inverse opal as a biological light reflector and emitter. Using the natural protein, the artificial tapetum lucidum, amplified spontaneous emission, and random lasing could be demonstrated.
