All-Optical Delay Line based on Semiconductor Cavity Solitons

Abstract

A novel all-optical delay line based on the lateral drift of cavity solitons in semiconductor microresonators is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The delay-bandwidth product is competitive with 'slow-light' based buffers and can be widely optimized.
