Abstract

We demonstrate random-phase spatial solitons in effectively-instantaneous nonlocal nonlinear media. These “ensemble-average solitons” display new features (e.g., the instantaneous self-trapped beams experience randomly deflections), making them different from all previously-observed coherent and incoherent solitons.
