Soliton breathing and activation of Resonant Radiation in Photonic Nanowires

Abstract

In sub-micron glass waveguides, the spectral and temporal breathings of high-order solitons “activate” resonant radiation frequencies in a step-like fashion by means of energy bursts in the early stages of supercontinuum generation.
