Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally and theoretically that fast polarization fluctuations caused by polarization instabilities play role of the external noise for the low frequency relaxation oscillations in erbium doped fiber laser. It leads to deterministic coherence and anticoherence resonance, which is revealed by extreme points in correlation time and variance in inter-spike intervals as a function of pump current.
