Abstract

We clarified the quantum size effects of the intrinsic nonlinearity and the nonlinear optical modulation of the local-field of an Ag nanoparticle. Understanding the underlying mechanisms in the nonlinear regime is a crucial step for controlling the light at nanoscale.
