Suppression of Pump Beats in Fiber-Based Wavelength Multicast by Backward Raman Amplification

Abstract

Undesirable pump beats are suppressed by up to 16.8 dB in Raman-assisted one-to-seven wavelength multicast of a QPSK signal. Q factor improvement as large as 4.6 dB is obtained over the output wavelength range.
