Bandwidth-Limited Few-Cycle Pulses by Nonlinear Compression in a Dispersion-Alternating Fiber

Abstract

We present pulse compression in a fiber with alternating dispersion sign. Repetitive bandwidth generation and recompression leads to few-cycle pulses. We show compression to bandwidth-limited pulses by using a special dispersion compensating fiber.
