Exceptional Precision of a Nonlinear Optical Sensor at a Square-Root Singularity

Abstract

We demonstrate a single-mode nonlinear optical resonator for exceptional sensing in noisy environments. The signal based on the resonator’s dynamic hysteresis displays a square-root singularity, enhancing the sensitivity, precision and the signal’s information content.
