Observation of longitudinal mode coupling in chaotic Q-switched vortex lasers

Abstract

A pulsed vortex laser formed by coherent superposition of off-axis resonating traveling waves. Sub-ns pulse as a result of mode coupling phenomena was observed in addition to periodic and chaotic oscillation under passive Q-switched operation.
