Abstract

Ultrafast lasers are enabling a growing number of biological imaging techniques including raster scanning multiphoton excited fluorescence (MPEF), two-photon light sheet, imaging second and third harmonic generation and stimulated Raman imaging. We will present various types of ultrafast laser architectures and link their optical characteristics to key bio-imaging requirements.
