SDN/OpenFlow Based Flexible Optical Transport Networks

Abstract

Flexible optical networks with flexible transceivers/WSS have the potential to improve network spectral efficiency in existing optical infrastructures. In this paper, we investigate the applicability of SDN/OpenFlow in such networks to improve network flexibility.
