Experimental verification of accurate model for Erbium doped fiber amplifier in a gain range from 0 to 40 dB

Abstract

Based on fundamental Erbium-doped fiber data, theoretical predictions show excellent agreement with all measured amplifier characteristics. 39.6 dB gain is demonstrated using a 654 nm pump source.
