Abstract
Low facet reflectivity and high coupling efficiency are key parameters for semiconductor laser amplifiers. The facet reflectivity of amplifiers not only induces the undesired spectral gain ripple but also enhances the intermodulation and crosstalk [1]. High coupling efficiency is important for a high fiber-to-fiber gain and also necessary for a small effective noise figure.
