Long-span IM/DD Transmission System Experiment using High-efficiency EDF Amplifiers

Abstract

The combination of an EDF booster amplifier and pre-amplifier allows 1.8Gb/s 308km non-repeatered transmission with a repeater gain of 55dB, by using non-dispersion shifted fibers.
