Polarization Insensitive Bulk Ridge-type Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers at 1.3µm Wavelength

Abstract

Polarization insensitive optical gain of 20dB with bulk ridge-type optical amplifiers is demonstrated for the first time. Main advantages of the reported structure are ease of fabrication and good suitability for monolithic integration.
