Abstract
We report the first demonstration of a CW, diode-pumped, silica fiber amplifier at 1.3 μm. A gain of 35 dB and an output power of +24.7 dBm have been obtained at 1.3 μm in germanosilicate fibers using a resonantly-cascaded Raman laser initiated by a diode-pumped Nd3+ cladding-pumped fiber laser.
