Abstract

With an interferometric autocorrelation detector almost unchirped optical ps-pulses at 1.55μm and 1.3 μm were determined to obtain a nonlinear self-phase modulation when strongly fiber amplified, and a linear frequency chirp when amplified with semiconductor optical amplifiers.
