Abstract

An original double-pass amplifier structure (MESGA) including an optical circulator and fiber Bragg gratings for gain stabilization and equalization has been realized. Measurements of the gain flatness and stabilization efficiency have been carried out to evaluate the potentiality of MESGA in wavelength division multiplexing systems.
